Dear
California CattleWomen Officers,
Committee Chairs, and Members,
When I attended
my first state cattlewomen’s meeting some 18 years ago, I
was so impressed with the quality of women and the goals they
were pursuing, I knew I wanted to be part of it all. I had
belonged to other women’s groups but lost interest because
I didn’t feel the depth of dedication I experienced with this
group. The sense of heritage and devotion to the land, the
possibility of “making a difference” all fascinated me.
And now, as your president for 2005-06, I am excited and committed
to furthering the goals of our organization. We have made
a difference in our communities and in our state. Our challenges
are sometimes daunting, but we have met them with self-confidence
and success – from teaching young children in the classroom
to sending food to our troops in Iraq. I applaud you for these
accomplishments.
Most of all, I want this to be your organization. I encourage
you to speak out at meetings. I welcome your voices, your
thoughts, your passions, and your input. Let your officers
know what is important to you so that, together, we can bring
our industry forward and meet the challenges that face us.
Finally, thank you for your dedication and contributions to
the California CattleWomen and, even more than that, your
friendship and caring. You can be proud of all that you have
accomplished for our industry.
California CattleWomen State President,
