Jerry Maltby’s Chili

  • 3 lbs Ground Beef
  • 1 lbs Hot Italian Sausage
  • 1  16 oz Jar Green Salsa
  • 1 16 oz Jar Red Salsa
  • 1 28 oz Can Diced Tomatoes
  • 4 10 oz Cans Rotel Diced Tomatoes with Green Chilies
  • 1 16 oz Can Hunts Fire Roasted Diced Tomatoes
  • 2 oz Beef Base
  • 1 Can or Bottle Beer
  • 1 Cup Dried Onions
  • 2 Small Cans Chopped Ortega Chilies
  • 1 oz Cumin
  • 1 oz Oregano
  • 1/4 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 tsp Chili Powder
  • 1 Tbsp. Chopped Garlic
  • 1 Tbsp. Paprika
  • 1 16 oz Jar Raspberry Chipotle Sauce ( or to taste)

Brown the meat and add to all other ingredients.  Let simmer for at least 2 hours.  Great over Brown Rice, or add your favorite beans if you want.

Note:  Jerry buys his spices in the little clear bags in the Mexican section of the store most are in 1oz bags or about 1 heaping tablespoon.
