Our
History
"Deja Moo"
We are an enthusiastic
group of women in the agricultural sector, women who nurture our families,
our communities, and our fertile earth.
Our women spent so much time fundraising so they could go into the class
rooms, so that they could fund bus trips to farms and ranches, so that
they could buy supplies for the children and the public in their educational
efforts that little energy was left to achieve their aims.
Our goal was to find a funding source for these activities. More time
spent on education helps people understand the need for open space, proper
grazing, and water quality management. We wanted to develop leaders who
can communicate those concerns as well as proper livestock handling techniques
with in our own industry in addition to the general public. We want women
of ability to serve on Natural Resource Boards, Farm Service Agency Boards,
Community Planning Boards, and to be available to speak and tell our story
when called upon.
Therefore, in 2001, a voluntary group of women with strong commitment
assembled, applied for, and were granted 501(c)3 status.
As stated, in our article of incorporation, we were created to receive
grants and charitable donations for the advancement of leadership education
and to assist in the promotion of agriculture through education and science.
We will, in turn, award the funds received, to grantees according to the
merits of their proposal or according to the specific request of the donor.
